Vintage Curling at Aviemore

In past years, some Vets with their wives and friends travelled to Aviemore for a bit of curling and socialising. The visits in 1991 and 1994 were captured on film by George McLeod. Buster Wallace, one of our trophy donors, presented the prizes in 1991.

Princess Royal meets George McLeod

Friday skip George McLeod was recently introduced to Princess Anne at Holyrood Palace. The occasion was a reception on the 400th anniversary of the High Constables of Edinburgh of which George is one. Other Vets who are High Constables include Brian Short, Alistair Beattie, Colin Forsyth, Andrew Hepburn, David Hall, Martin McMenigall and Allan Smith.

Club Trophies

Some 40 years of curling with the Vets has seen many changes and existing members may not know who past donors were. James Crerar, with the help of Ivan Robson and others, has done some historical research on donors. The results can now be found as notes on the Winners page. If anyone can add to the (still incomplete) information, we would be grateful.

The history of Dragon Boats can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtBWIWxW84s

Cron would welcome a Vets crew at next year's event.
